I’ve been published!! A few months ago Me Ra approached us 14 Teachers with an opportunity to write blog posts for a website called ShutterLoveOnline.com, which is part of Nielsen Photo Group. How exciting is that?!? The site is still in its Beta testing phase (click HERE to read the press release) with the big launch set for some time this week, however, it’s up and running and they’ve been slowly posting our articles.
The theme for the site is to offer informational, easy to understand, articles to empower women to shoot with confidence—to give them tips, technical information, and to push them outside of their comfort zone.
My first post is a fun family project entitled, ‘How to Make a Pinhole Camera’. I enrolled my sister-in-law, brother-in-law, and two nieces to work me and to be my models—thank you Colleen, Brent, Natalie and Julia!!
Children love taking photos with their parents’ smartphones or cameras. But what if you empowered them to make their own camera? Making a pinhole camera is simple, fun, and you probably already have all of the materials lying around your house. This is an excellent family project for teaching your children how to read instructions, to build something from scratch using household items, and for teaching them how to improvise and troubleshoot.
